I am a Principal Adversary Emulation Engineer at MITRE. I lead the macOS/Linux efforts for MITRE ATT&CK®. I focus on adversary emulation and malware development while designing and delivering hands-on training programs that empower cybersecurity professionals across the globe. Throughout my time at MITRE, I’ve taken on several technical and leadership roles, including serving as CTI Team Leader for MITRE ATT&CK Evaluations and leading research projects for the Center of Threat-Informed Defense. I’m passionate about mentoring others and working on projects that are like the tide, they raise all ships.

My career in cybersecurity began at Target, where I developed an algorithm to assess and strengthen the organization’s security posture based on data & behavioral analytics, resulting in a patent. I went on to become Target’s first female internal red team operator and later its first full-time threat hunter. I’m grateful to have helped design and mature the company’s threat hunting program, fostering stronger collaboration between teams and significantly improving its maturity. Before moving into the private sector, I served as a military intelligence professional in an Army Airborne unit, completing two combat deployments that shaped my strategic approach to problem-solving.

Outside of work, I love sharing knowledge through workshops, public speaking, and this blog, CatalystCode.org. Whether mentoring others, planning an epic adventure in foreign lands, learning Chinese, or Salsa dancing, I’m always excited to connect with people from all walks of life.

四海之内皆兄弟 (sì hǎi zhī nèi jiē xiōng dì)
No matter where we are in the world, we are all connected—friendship and camaraderie are not limited by geography.

Context

I love mentoring and find fulfillment in making the path smoother for those who come after me. As I grew in leadership, I began creating templates for common processes and identifying patterns in the challenges I discussed with those I lead. Thus, this blog was born—not as a polished platform, but as a personal space to collect and pass along what I’ve learned.

This is my personal blog, written for my friends, family, and those I mentor. If you’ve found your way here, welcome! I hope you find something useful. But know that this isn’t a curated resource with a “subscribe” button—it’s meant to be read in context, as if we were on a call discussing it together. I also use it to prepare for mentorship sessions, giving those I lead something to reflect on before we meet so we can dive deeper.

Take what’s helpful, leave what’s not, and approach it as the shared resource it’s meant to be. Maybe one day our paths will cross.
